Small finance-tech company, big scam

Pay By Touch, which touted a new fingerprint-reading technology to aid ATM, online and other retail transactions, made quite a splash in the financial services industry not too long ago. Led by the persuasive John Rogers, it attracted huge investments from the likes of Och-Ziff Capital Management's OZ Master Fund, Plainfield Asset Management, the Gordon Getty family trust and supermarket mogul Ron Burkle. It was also, on the surface anyway, negotiating deals with top financial services institutions, like American Express. But the dream has turned into a nightmare, according to the New York Post. The company is defunct, investors are mad, and Rogers' shady past is coming to light. It's quite a tale.
