Any way to anticipate the coming reform?

We all expect there to be heightened regulation in the financial services sector this year. It's fair to say risk management and compliance will continue to be areas where regulators will seek improvement. But we do not exactly know what shape it will take.

Still, IT issues will be at the core of a lot of initiatives. And we can reasonably anticipate what might prove fruitful in the near-term. Any bank that has invested in analytics, real-time data management and the likes may find themselves in good position to comply. Really anything that enhances operational transparency seems like a winning idea. Of course the devil will be in the details. Which we don't have yet.
