Data center disaster brewing?

We all know that data centers have emerged as an IT imperative for financial services firms. From Sarbanes-Oxley, to all the other regulations, to the sheer growth of business, banks have been forced to quickly expand their data center operations. Will all this come back to haunt them? Uptime Institute founder Kenneth Brill is warning that a disaster is lurking for many data center-dependent firms, according to CIO Insight. The costs are rising as energy efficiencies can't keep up with banks' server computing capacity. Banks have been grappling with this for a while now. Among other things, they've been mulling new "green" services and better cooling systems from a host of vendors. It's clear that they've got to do something, budget crunch or not.
