Fidelity pointing the way with mobile trading apps?

We've spoken a lot about banks bent on building out their mobile offerings. But brokerage firms are in some ways even farther ahead on the roll out curve. Fidelity Investments certainly thinks mobile apps are the way to go. 

According to Wall Street & Technology, 2007 was something of a banner year for the Boston-based giant. Complaints about the service fell and users got more comfortable with mobile services. Increasingly, they are doing the kinds of things that we take for granted via the Internet on their phones: getting quotes, trading stock after hours, trading options and more. Fidelity credits the iPhone for some of its success. Joe Ferra, chief wireless officer at Fidelity--the title alone says something about Fidelity's thinking--tells the magazine he envisions a day when the cell phone will only increase in utility, even usurping the functions of car keys and wallets.
