The FinTech 100 announced

American Banker, Bank Technology News and IDC have announced their sixth annual FinTech 100, a list of the top players in the financial services vendor community. Fiserv continues to hold down the top spot, and Fidelity, Sungard, Diebold and NCR remain in the top five. One noticeable change in the top 10 is that CA dropped from eighth to twelfth. Foreign companies continue to rise. Eleven Indian companies, led by Tata, and three Chinese companies made the list.

The industry seems to have fared well in 2009, despite the recession. Revenue aggregated over the top 100 companies rose to $52 billion from $45 billion in 2008, and the minimum threshold for making the list rose to $50 million from $36 million. The list creators suggest that this represents a flight to quality when it comes to IT vendors and financial services. A lot of big names are missing as the rules specify that financial services must account for a certain minimum percentage of all revenue.
