Microsoft's Silverlight aims for financial services companies

The giant of Redmond is convinced its browser plug-in known as Silverlight is ideal for the financial services industry. It will be making its case in a series of demos and events soon, reports Windows in Financial Services. Microsoft is preparing a raft of demos for industry conferences and meeting with specific banks and insurance companies. One demo creates a setting in which the product's enhanced features let customers and employees work through various tasks. Silverlight, still in beta, eventually will need some real world proof of concept beyond the demos. Attracting developers will not be easy, but the company seems to be putting some marketing heft behind the initiative, which is a good thing. At some point, will Silverlight be built into the IE? If it finds an audience, it just might.
