We've pretty much gotten used to the idea of NYSE Euronext as a top-shelf IT solutions provider. It certainly is not slowing down. It seems to be bent on making an all-out move to become a leading SaaS infrastructure provider that will host advanced financial services applications.

It just announced a service to host and offer a Marketcetera pay per use trading platform. NYSE Euronext is building two leading edge data centers, one in New Jersey and one in London, which will use Juniper and Cienna products. About 20 percent of the capacity at the New Jersey site will be used for internal purposes, executives have said. The rest will go toward SaaS-like services on its Secure Financial Transaction Infrastructure, which is pronounced "safety." One obvious area of interest will be any service that would benefit from a specific placement of the hardware close to trading engines.
